The Tax Practice Group provides support to the Alternative Investment Practice Group on a broad range of transactions and issues affecting hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, commodity funds and fund of funds. We have broad experience creating innovative and tax efficient fund structures, counseling investment advisors and advising investors on tax consequences of their proposed investments. In addition to providing tax advice to our general funds practice, the Tax Practice Group’s services extend to cross-border tax issues, derivative investment products and tax characterization, capital market debt and equity transactions and general mergers and acquisition experience of investment advisors.

The Tax Practice Group also represents from time to time, clients in connection with acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, spin-offs and other acquisitive and divisive transactions and corporate restructurings. The firm’s clients include primarily privately held corporations and private equity and hedge funds.
