Scott D. Brenner is Special Counsel (Commercial Trade, Finance & Physical Commodities) to the firm's Alternative Investment, Commercial Litigation, Regulatory and Corporate Governance Practice Groups. As a veteran commercial trade and business lawyer with approximately 20 years of diverse experience, Mr. Brenner represents foreign and domestic businesses ranging in development from early and emerging growth stages, to middle market and multi-national corporations. His trade practice includes commercial transactions and litigation involving the international sale/purchase, shipment, warehousing, and distribution of goods, services, physical commodities and other raw materials. In this area, Mr. Brenner regularly advises and represents leading world-wide traders and producers of metals, minerals, agriculture and energy commodities. In addition, his corporate practice includes business formations, growth and development strategies, joint ventures and strategic alliances, business acquisitions and divestitures, debt finance, private equity and venture capital, with industry exposure in financial products and services, technology, consumer goods, and real estate development. Mr. Brenner is a graduate of Alfred University (BA 1985) where he currently serves as First Vice-President of its Alumni Council. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Marist College (MPA 1987), ranking in the upper 10th percentile. He attended Brooklyn Law School (JD 1990) as a member of Moot Court Honor Society. Mr. Brenner is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of New York and Connecticut, and is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
